After seizing Turkish ship, LNA’s navy forces are on high alert

The Chief of Libyan National Army’s Navy Force, General Faraj Al-Mahdawi, has declared the high alert state to thwart any Turkish movements near Libyan territorial waters after hours of seizing a ship with Turkish crew members sailing in the boundaries outlined by the MoU between Turkey and the Government of National Accord.

Al-Mahdawi told Al-Arabiya TV that the LNA Navy Force is now in high alert in case Turkey wants to send more weapons and troops to Libya.

He said the LNA won’t hesitate in responding to and targeting any Turkish movements in the Libyan sovereign waters, adding that the navy forces are ready to execute the orders of the General Command at all times.

The seized Greneda-flagged ship was towed to Ras Al-Hilal port for inspection and investigation into its shipment.

“We will take the needed measures against the ship and crew as per the international law.” Spokesman for the LNA, Ahmed Al-Mismari said.
