Al-Thini: We won’t allow Ottoman occupation to return to Libya

The Prime Minister of the Libyan Interim Government Abdullah Al-Thini said the MoU between Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Fayez Al-Sarraj is a document that aims to sell Libya.

In his meeting with the Greek Foreign Minister Nikos Dendias, who is on a formal visit to Libya, Al-Thini said “we won’t allow the return of the Ottoman occupation to Libya and we’ll repel them by force”.

The Interim Government said in a statement that Al-Thini said the MoU between Al-Sarraj and Erdogan isn’t even worth the ink used for signatures, adding that Libyans reject this agreement as Erdogan and Al-Sarraj aim to support the armed groups to keep GNA in power.

He called on the international community to withdraw recognition from the GNA as it became a threat to Libyans and neighboring countries by trying to advocate for division in the entire region.
