Tunisians angered by Turkey’s intervention in Libya

Civil societies and political activists in Tunisia organized a sit-in outside the Turkish Embassy in Tunis in rejection of Turkey’s intervention in Libya.

The protesters issued a statement expressing their rejection of military intervention by Ankara in Libya, opposing using Tunisia as a platform to send terrorists’ convoys to Libya.

The statement also opposed all forms of attempts by Turkey to turn Libya into a proxy war, saying Libyans have the right to decide on their own fate without any foreign intervention.

It described the visit by Turkey’s President Recep Tayyip Erdogan to Tunisia as “horrible violation of national sovereignty” after the statement he made from Tunis.

The protesters condemned what they described as the criminal involvement of Ennahdha Movement of Tunisia with the Turkish government to target Libya and destabilize it.
