Syrian fighters with Turkish wepaons on Tripoli frontlines using slogans of “Protecting Islam”

A video on social media showed on Saturday fighters speaking Syrian Arabic dialect near a military camp in Tripoli, Libya.

Reliable sources said the Syrian fighters are from “Motasem Brigade” that is loyal to Turkey and that the location was at the back gate of Al-Tikbali camp, where heavy clashes were ongoing.

The Syrian fighters commented by saying “The Syrian Free Army is defending Islam,” amid outrage in Libya.

In the meantime, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan is now racing time to push for an early session for the Parliament, which is supposed to hold on January 07 or 08, in order to pass a bill allowing Turkish troops to be deployed to Libya.

The haste by Ankara comes out of fear that the LNA would control the Libyan capital and regain authority from Turkey’s ideological allies.

This comes after the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) said Turkey opened four centers, in Afrin in northern Aleppo, to recruit fighters to send them to Libya to fight for GNA armed groups.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said 300 pro-Turkey fighters arrived from Syria in Tripoli, in addition to other recruits (900 to 1000) with salaries of 2000 to 2500 dollars a month on contracts of 3 or 6 months. They would receive more if they stayed longer in Libya, the SOHR added.

Meanwhile, Independent Arabia reported local sources from north Syria that Hamzat Armed Group was supervising a new recruit center, while Al-Jabha Al-Shamiya was supervising another recruit office in Gibarah village and a third one was opened in Mahmoudiyah neighborhood under the control of Al-Shamil Brigade.

218News reported earlier that Turkey was preparing to send fighters from “Sultan Murad” and Motasem” brigades which are fighting for Turkey in Syria, which was confirmed by Middle East Eye newspaper, citing a Syrian source, which said Soqoor Al-Sham brigade agreed as well to send fighters to Libya and had already sent several fighters to Tripoli.

It added that Failaq Al-Sham could be the one supervising the sending of fighters to Libya as its members used to be part of armed groups from Libya in the past.

Meanwhile, Democratic North Brigade of Syrian Democratic Forces issued a statement to the Syrian people in Idlib, saying the cooperation between Syrian free Army fighters with Turkey to intervene in Libya isn’t acceptable.
