Libya’s Al-Sarraj and Turkey’s Foreign Minister visit Algeria

The Head of the Presidential Council Fayez Al-Sarraj has arrived in Algeria today (Monday) with a delegation that includes Foreign Minister Mohammed Sayala to meet with the Algerian President Abdelmajid Tebboune and discuss solutions to the Libyan crisis.

The Algerian Presidency said the meeting comes as part of the continuing consultations between Libya and Algeria regarding the ongoing conflict in the country.

This visit coincides with a visit for the Turkish Foreign Minister Mavlut Çavuşoğlu to Algeria in which he will stay for two days.

Turkey has been racing time to start its military intervention in Libya and is holding talks with neighboring countries to use their airspace, marine and land borders.

After a visit to Tunisia and so many economic temptations, Algeria is now next for Turkey and the Foreign Minister’s visit comes in that regard.

Yet, Al-Sarraj’s visit to Algeria has more to it as it comes after the announcement of the start of deployment of Turkish troops to Libya by Erdogan.
