Egypt criticizes GNA-Turkey agreement, confirms mercenaries have arrievd in Libya

As the first Egyptian confirmation about the mercenaries in Libya, Egypt’s Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry said foreign fighters had been brought to Libya.

Shoukry’s statement on Thursday came in his participation at the meeting of Foreign Ministers of Libya’s neighboring countries that is being held in Algeria.

Shoukry said Cairo and its neighbors reject engaging in any dialogue with terrorism, referring to countries trying to destabilize the region.

Shoukry said the Head of the Presidential Council Fayez Al-Sarraj violated the terms of the Skhirat agreement by signing agreements with Turkey, whose intervention complicated the Libyan crisis.

The meeting in Algeria is held in the presence of Foreign Ministers of Algeria, Chad, Tunisia, Egypt, Sudan, Niger, and Mali to boost cooperation to help advance a political solution in Libya.
