From Algeria, Erdogan says there are no military solutions in Libya

The Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has visited Algeria with a high ranking delegation for the first time since the election of Abdelmaj9d Tebboune as the new president .

In a joint press conference following the meeting, the presidents announced a joint cooperation council between Ankara and Algiers as Erdogan invited Tebboune to visit Turkey this year to attend the first meeting for the new council.

The two presidents talked about the developments in Libya and their repurcussions on Algeria, adding that they were in constant contact regarding the ceasefire and return to political process, reiterating that there is no military solution to the conflict.

Erdogan announced before the visit that Turkey would increase trade exchanges with Algeria to 5 billion dollars as Ankara is considered the biggest investor in Algeria with about 3.5 billion dollars. Erdogan was accompanied by 150 businesspersons to that end.

The Head of the biggest Islamist party in Algeria Abdelrazzak Megri hailed the visit and said his country should join Turkey’s axis, which raises more questions about Turkey’s intention to revive Muslim Brotherhood from Algeria’s gate after being toppled in Egypt.
