After spending two billion dinars, will Libyan Presidential Council spend another billion?

After the two billion dinars spent on war by the Presidential Council, another billion dinars come to the scene as per an order circulating on social media that says the Presidential Council of the Government of National Accord has allocated one billion dinars to the defense ministry to be cut from the 2020 extraordinary financial arrangements.

The order, which is only shared on social media without any official pages publishing it, the billion dinars will be spent as follows: half a million dinars for urgent security equipment, 300 million to support the military and security operations of fighting terrorism, 100 million dinars to secure the institutions and fight crime and 100 million dinars to support health facilities.

218News couldn’t verify the circulated order by the Presidential Council as the Central Bank of Libya’s Governor Al-Sadiq Al-Kabir warned of budget deficit in 2020 if the oil blockade continued.

The Presidential Council has spent billions on fighting but has been unable to hail the economy for years as Libyans are still flocking to banks to withdraw few dinars to help them keep alive. The Presidential Council continues to ignore the damaged infrastructure and people’s properties that have been damaged by fighting.
