Fate of armed militias in Tripoli is the heavy subject of Libya Geneva talks

Military sources have revealed that 5+5 military commission negotiations in Geneva details saying that the Libyan National Army’s delegation is holding on to activating the security appendix of Skhirat agreement that says all militias seizing power in Tripoli should be dissolved.

The sources added to Al-Ittihad newspaper that the talks in Geneva couldn’t reach an agreement on ceasefire terms as UN envoy to Libya Ghassan Salame said earlier that both parties agreed to turning the truce to a permanent ceasefire.

The sources indicated that the LNA’s delegation expressed readiness to implement the Cairo Libya military negotiations’ terms, stressing that a mechanism should be put in place that guarantees the implementation of any deal reached under the auspices of the UNSMIL.
