Libya’s HoR: Selecting Geneva delegation needed time due to the nature of our work

In line with the preparations for the political negotiations that will be held in Geneva, the Head of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the House of Representatives Yousef Al-Agori said selecting the delegation for Geneva needed some time as the HoR discussed the step with all members.

Al-Agori said choosing the delegation members took time due to the democratic nature of the HoR’s work and its commitment to the people as well as its keenness not to repeat past mistakes.

He added that the boycott of some Tripoli-based HoR members caused damage to the democratic process, saying they couldn’t be considered a second HoR as it would damage the unity of the HoR, which is the political symbol of Libya.

He indicated that the HoR supports the start of the economic dialogue and that it will make sure the dialogue reaches agreement on fair distribution of wealth across Libya and transparency of expenditures.
