Cyprus: Turkish intervention in Libya threatens regional security

The Foreign Minister of Cyprus has reiterated rejection to the Turkish military intervention in Libya, saying it is concerning and destabilizing to the country.

The Cypriot Foreign Minister said the Turkish intervention in Libya has dangerous repurcussions on the security in Libya, the region and Europe.

He told Aharq Al-Awsat that Turkish troops’ deployment in Libya and the statements of Turkish President fuel the conflict.

The Foreign Minister also expressed concern over the increased number of Syrian mercenaries and terrorists in Tripoli after they had been brought by Turkey to help the Government of National Accord.
