Tripoli Appeals Court acquits top Gaddafi’s regime official

The criminal division of the Tripoli Court of Appeals acquitted Sunday the poet Abdullah Mohammed Mansour of all the charges against him from 2011.

Mansour, who was the Director of Interior Security during Gaddafi’s regime time as he was a military general, was being held on charges related to 2011 revolution incidents.

Mansour held many state offices, such as the Head of TV and Radio General Authority but he took refuge in Niger when Gaddafi’s regime was toppled and Tripoli was contrilled by revolutionary fighters in August 2011.

In February 2014, Niger extradited Mansour as the former Director of the Interior Security of Gaddafi’s regime to the Libyan authorities, saying he broke the protocol rules of asylum on Niger’s territory.
