Tripoli-based Special Deterrence Force kidnaps General Director of Afriqiyah Airways

Tripoli-based Special Deterrence Force has kidnapped the Director General of Al-Afriqiya Airways, Ali Milad Daw, in front of his house on Omar Mukhtar Street, last night, according to a source from the company.

This kidnapping comes amid the administrative division within the body of the airliner, for which a final ruling from the judicial authorities is scheduled for next Tuesday.

Later, the General Administration of Al-Afriqiya Airways released a statement saying that an armed militia kidnapped its director, Ali Daw, on Sunday, at 10.55 pm, in front of his house on Omar Al-Mukhtar Street, in the center of Tripoli, while he was returning home, adding that until this moment there is no connection with Daw as his whereabouts have not yet been determined.

While the company’s management condemned the kidnapping of its general manager, holding the Government of National Accord (GNA), its president, the public prosecutor, the Ministry of Interior and security agencies responsible, demanding that they urgently expose his location and the people who kidnapped him.

It noted that the employees and workers of the airliner will go on a protest tomorrow morning to demand the disclosure of the details of the incident. Meanwhile, it is reported that Ali Daw is considered the legal representative of Al-Afriqiya Airways.
