Turkey is preparing to send new groups of fighters to Tripoli

The Head of the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) Rami Abdel Rahman, said that the number of mercenaries Turkey sent to Libya to support the forces of the Government of National Accord reached 4,750 fighters, adding that Ankara was working on preparing new groups of fighters to send them to Tripoli.

Abdel Rahman revealed, in an intervention with “LIVE” program on 218News Monday, that Turkey was preparing to transfer 117 fighters from the “Al-Mutasim Brigade and the Sultan Brigade” to Libya, while the number of mercenaries in Syrian camps under the command of the Turks reached 1900 fighters, saying they will be later transferred to Tripoli.

Speaking about the transportation of the Syrian fighters to Libya, Abdel Rahman said they were not limited to flights, as groups of fighters were transported to Libya aboard Turkish military ships that went to the port of Tripoli.

Regarding the number of deaths among the Syrian mercenaries in Tripoli, the Head of the Syrian Observatory confirmed that it exceeded 120 fighters distributed over the Suleiman Shah Brigade, Sultan Murad, Hamzat, Suqur al-Sham and Liwa al-Mutasim, adding that seven of them were killed by militant brigades loyal to GNA as they discovered the fighters were trying to film their involvement in the fighting.

Rami Abdel Rahman pointed out that there are about 200 mercenaries who have actually arrived in Europe via Libyan shores, adding that there is another group preparing to go to Europe.

He also said that those who arrived in Europe have no relationship with jihadist groups, and they belong to the Islamic groups that were fighting the Syrian regime and later joined under the command of the national army operating under the Syrian command.
