Turkish TV Channel pinished for revealing “Erdogan’s losses” in Libya

The Supreme Council of Radio and Television of Turkey (RTÜK) decided to impose sanctions on the opposition TV channel “Halk” for revealing the identity of the Turkish intelligence officer who was killed in Libya.

According to the statement issued by the Supreme Council of Radio and Television (RTÜK), the report of experts prepared on Halk TV had been discussed.

The Supreme Council concluded that Halk TV violated the laws during its live broadcast on February 24, 2020 and violated the rule of law by displaying the identity of the dead soliders of the Turkish army.

According to the decision, the TV channel, during its direct broadcast, violated Article 8 of Law No. 6112, which stipulates the prohibition of publishing materials related to national security without prior permission.
