Al-Mismari: LNA is engaging in heavy clashes, killing a “dangerous terrorist”

The spokesman for the General Command of the Libyan National Army (LNA), Major General Ahmed Al-Mismari, confirmed that the LNA had engaged in violent clashes 48 hours ago to prevent armed groups of the Government of National Accord from exploiting the declared truce.

Al-Mismari said in a press conference on Sunday that the LNA intensified its airstrikes from Abu Grein area to Misrata, destroying many military targets, adding that the LNA was monitoring armed groups from Misrata trying to carry out attacks in Al-Jufra, hence managing to destroy a hostile target that tried to atatck Al-Jufra airbase.

Regarding the recent strikes that the LNA carried out against Mitiga base, Al-Mismari indicated that they had targeted locations in Mitiga base, saying they belonged to the Turkish army, and that they were completely destroyed, confirming the death of the Turkish soldiers here after those strikes.

Al-Mismari added that during the past 72 hours, the LNA has detected that Turkish soldiers installed radar stations and missile units at Misrata Airport, adding that those Turkish targets were dealt with.

He estimated the number of Turkish officers and advisers who were brought to Libya at about 1,000, stressing that the LNA’s operations will not stop until the eviction of all Turkish forces and foreign fighters who were brought into Libya.

Meanwhile, Al-Mismari accused Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan of trying to send dangerous terrorists into Europe via Libya, adding that they have so far detected nearly 2,000 terrorists who were brought by Turkey to Libya, including members of Jabhat Al-Nusra and ISIS.

Regarding the mercenaries whom Turkey has admitted sending to Libya, Al-Mismari pointed out that there are approximately 1,900 Syrian mercenaries receiving training at camps in Gaziantep and they will be transferred to Libya soon.

He explained that between 300 to 400 terrorists are transported to Libya every day on board of the Libyan Wings and Afriqiyah Airways aircraft in Tripoli and Turkish military aircraft.

Al-Mismari announced that the LNA forces were able on Sunday to eliminate a dangerous terrorist named “Abu Al-Abbas Al-Damashqi” in Abu Grein, as part of LNA’s ongoing operations to attack Erdogan’s mercenaries in Libya.
