The General Commander of the Libyan National Army, Field Marshal Khalifa Haftar, has instructed the Ministry of Health to declare the state of emergency to maximum levels and provide all the capabilities that the citizens need to prevent the outbreak of the Coronavirus in the country.
Field Marshal Haftar has also allocated part of the armed forces’ budget to equip an emergency hospital at Benina base in Benghazi as a Coronavirus precautionary measure.
According to Haftar’s instructions, the hospital will have a capacity of 100 beds for intensive care , provided that the specialized medical teams are equipped, trained and fully supervised as well as operated in preparation for the Coronavirus epidemic.
Haftar called for taking all necessary precautions and preventive measures as well as for providing all the capabilities and medical supplies that people need to confront the Coronavirus and limit its spread.
