Libya suffers financial losses worth billions due to oil production, exports’ shutdown

The National Oil Corporation (NOC) revealed in a statement published on Monday that daily oil production had fallen to 79.000 barrels by the end of last Sunday.

The NOC indicated that the financial losses amounted to $ 3.808 billion for the period from January 18 to March 29, due to the halt of production and export operations.

The NOC demanded the protesters in the Oil Crescent Region in Libya to reopen fields and ports to resume export operations, warning that the continued stoppage of oil production and supply operations will affect the work of the power stations and cause blackouts in major cities across the country.

The NOC said tankers loaded with cooking gas and gasoline arrived in the past days to various ports in the eastern region.
