Former Libyan Prime Minister Mahmoud Jibril dies of Coronavirus

The Head of the Libyan National Forces Alliance and the former Head of the Executive Council of the National Transitional Council, Dr. Mahmoud Jibril, has died of Coronavirus in Cairo, Egypt.

Dr. Mahmoud Jibril entered one of the private clinics in the Egyptian capital, Cairo, and after conducting tests and taking a sample from him, he tested positive for Coronavirus.

His health conditions went through ups and downs in the last week, according to those close to him who witnessed his case, saying his condition was marked as stable a few days ago, but he relapsed Sunday to die at the age of 68.

Jibril’s death received wide attention from the local media and officials, whether from the Government of National Accord or the Libyan Government.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the GNA contacted the Libyan embassy in Egypt, and the Chief of the General Staff of the Libyan National Army, General Abdel-Razzaq Al-Nadouri, also communicated with the Egyptian side to facilitate his medical treatment.

Throughout his professional and political life, Dr. Mahmoud Jibril was known for his kindness, rational creation, and his avoidance of personal differences that made him away from any conflicts without holding any grudge against anyone.
