The General Commander of the Libyan National Army, Field Marshal Khalifa Haftar, said that he had accepted the will of the Libyan people to authorize the General Command to remove the Libyan Political Agreement and manage the country.
Field Marshal Haftar said, in a video statement on Monday evening, “We are proud of the mandate of Libyans for the general leadership of this historic mission in these exceptional circumstances, to stop the implementation of the Libyan Political Agreement and leave it as something from the past by a decision of the Libyan peoplez who are the source of the authorities.”
Field Marshal Haftar emphasized that the “general command of the LNA” will be “at the disposal of the people, and will work to the best of its capabilities to lift the suffering of Libyans, service the citizens, and protect their rights, in addition to creating conditions for building permanent civil state institutions according to the will of the people and their aspirations while continuing the liberation process to the end.”
