130 Syrian mercenaries arrive in Tripoli’s Mitiga Airport, source tells 218News

An exclusive source told 218News that a plane belonging to a Libyan airliner landed Monday evening at Mitiga International Airport in Tripoli coming from Ankara Airport, with a number of Syrian mercenaries on board.

The source added that the estimated number of mercenaries, who arrived in Mitiga Airport, was 130 fighters, indicating that the fighters’ group has been dominated by links to extremism, unlike the fighters who came in previous flights.

Meanwhile, the Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said on Monday that he is determined to continue supporting the Government of National Accord, which he described as “legitimate”, adding: “We will hear good news from Libya soon.”

It is noteworthy that Erdogan continues to support the Government of National Accord with various types of weapons, as well as mercenaries, most of whom are Syrians, whose number in Libya reached about 7,400 fighters, according to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights.
