The US Embassy in Libya announced Friday afternoon that it shared the concern of the United Nations Support Mission in Libya about recent field developments.
The UN mission in Libya has stated that it is following with concern the military developments and mobilization around the city of Tarhuna.
The UNSMIL called on all parties involved in the fighting to refrain from military escalation and to resort to peaceful means.
The US Embassy, on its official Facebook page, reiterated that there was absolutely no place for attacks targeting civilians, such as robberies or reprisals.
The Embassy added that it was time for all parties in Libya to immediately stop the escalation and return to military negotiations, or what is known as the United Nations-led 5+5 Military Commission.
