GNA seizes Tarhouna without fighting after LNA withdraws

Government of National Accord forces entered the city of Tarhuna without clashes after the withdrawal of the Libyan National Army forces from it upon orders from the General Command.

Sources confirmed to 218News that GNA forces entered since Friday morning all the city’s neighborhoods and streets after they completely surrounded it after controlling the Dawoon, Musabah, and Al-Nasser towns.

The same sources indicated the arrival of the Libyan National Army brigades, the supporting force, and the security and police forces to Al-Jafra after withdrawing from Tarhuna.

A spokesman for the GNA forces, Mohammad Gununu, preceded the entry of their forces by a call on the elders and notables to avoid bloodshed, by removing the LNA from the city.

Meanwhile, 218News sources, citing the Red Crescent in Bani Walid, learned that more than 5000 displaced families arrived in the city, in light of the tension in Tarhuna.
