Syrian Observatory says a Jabhat Al-Nusra leader killed in Sirte

The director of the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, Rami Abdel Rahman, confirmed the killing of the leader of the Al-Nusra Front, “Abu Yaaroub Al-Athari” in the city of Sirte, pointing to the killing of 390 Syrian mercenaries who were pushed by Turkey to fight in Libya.

Abdel-Rahman added in an interview with “Al-Arabiya” that the observatory documented the arrival of more than 13,000 Syrian mercenaries who are now fighting in Libya, in addition to 49 ISIS operatives.

The director of the Syrian Observatory condemned the silence of the international community over the practices of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, who wants to repeat his scenarios in Libya after he allowed the entry of tens of thousands of jihadists into Syria.

He said Erdogan was betting on Syrian mercenaries to take control of the entire Libyan soil, and was ready to send more of them if needed.
