218News sources say UN arms embargo violators in Libya will be soon announced by international community

218News learned from an informed source that the international follow-up committee to implement the conclusions of the Berlin conference will hold an “exceptional meeting” next Thursday in Brussels, to finish its consultations on the Libyan file.

The source confirmed that it is expected that meeting will result in the announcement of the parties which are violating the arms embargo imposed on Libya.

The European Union’s foreign policy representative, Josep Borrell, has said that this meeting “will be an opportunity to continue the discussion on what can be done to settle the Libyan crisis”, stressing that “the time has come to translate the strong commitments agreed upon at the Berlin conference, and turn them into Concrete actions under the banner of the United Nations. ”

In a related context, France, Italy and Germany threatened, on Saturday, to impose sanctions on foreign powers that violate the arms embargo in Libya, and called in a strongly worded statement all foreign parties to end their growing interference and fully respect the arms embargo.
