Hollywood-style smuggling attempt at Tripoli’s Mitiga Airport leads to sacking of SDF leader

A security source revealed to 218News that an attempt to smuggle $3 million through Mitiga Airport in Tripoli by a person named Raad Enzam, the nephew of Dawi Inzam, a leader in the Special Deterrence Force, was foiled.

The source revealed the details of the incident, starting with Raad’s entry to the airport and his attempt to deceive the security personnel, as he got out of Gate No.9 for the passage of diplomatic figures and VIP visitors, then he put the money on a wheelchair for transporting patients.

Regarding the issue of patient transport stretchers from the gate of the senior visitors at Mitiga airport, the source said that Raad tried to take advantage of what has become common in the airport about passing the wounded who have a relationship with Turkey through this gate in preparation for their travel abroad.

In a scenario similar to “Hollywood” stories, he tried to deceive the security personnel at the airport and convince them that the bed was carrying a wounded Turkish national as the ambulance was ready to take off.

The source added that after disputes between the security forces and Raad, they discovered that the bed was carrying an estimated amount of 3 million dollars, then Dawi Enzam, fixed the situation, and returned the full amount to his nephew.

This incident angered the commander of the Special Deterrence Force, Abdel Raouf Kara, who instructed some leaders to remove the individuals belonging to the family of Enzam, who joined the Special Deterrence Force, and to separate them from the force, according to the security source.
