Sanalla warns of a bigger catastrophe than Beirut port blast

The Chairman of the National Oil Corporation, Mustafa Sanallah, warned on Saturday of the seriousness of the situation in the Oil Crescent Region, with the continued presence of mercenaries in the oil facilities, as he described it.

Sanallah said in a statement that the military escalation in the Oil Crescent Region increases the risks due to the presence of hydrocarbon and chemical materials stored in the oil ports that may result in “great damage” that exceeds the explosion of the Beirut port, and harms workers and residents of the oil crescent area, in addition to about billions of dollars in lost export opportunities.

Sanallah warned that the storage capacity of gas is about to run out, which will result in a halt in production operations within days and an increase in the hours of power outages in the eastern region due to the suspension of supply to power stations.
