High State Council and HoR to hold a meeting in Morocco

Morocco is going to host meetings of the Libyan Parliament and the Supreme Council of State to activate the political solution, according to what sources from within the House of Representatives revealed to Al-Ittihad newspaper.

According to the sources, the upcoming meetings will be held between the two delegations at the beginning of next week, to consult on the activation of the political process after the announcement of the ceasefire decision two months ago.

The Moroccan mediation comes after Russian mediation, and the sources indicated that the UN envoy in Libya, Stephanie Williams, supports these moves.

According to the sources, Special Envoy of the President of the Council, Abdel Basset Al-Badri, in arranging the meetings in Morocco.

The sources expected that these meetings would be the beginning of a break in the political deadlock in Libya for more than a year, noting the importance of supporting the UN mission’s moves to resume the meetings of the political and military committees.
