Negligent police officer buying Kebab: New details about Manchester Arena bomber

The British newspaper “Daily Mail” published details of the ongoing investigations into the suicide attack that targeted a concert for pop singer Ariana Grande, and the background to the tragic accident that left 22 people dead, in addition to injuring hundreds.

The newspaper refers to a possible “security hole” caused by police officers who appear to have failed in their duty. This helped the attacker, the suicide bomber, “Salman Abedi,” and his younger brother, “Hashem”, to carry out their plot.

The investigations found that the British Transport Police officer, “Jessica Bullog”, was responsible for securing the point from which the attacker entered; She was on a two-hour break to “buy kebab”, exceeding the time limit.

The policewoman told the public investigation into the terrorist attack that her break should be between 50 minutes and one hour, but instead, she was off patrol for two hours and nine minutes, during which she spent half an hour buying a kebab with her colleague, Mark Renshaw, the police community support officer, before eating takeaway at the Northern Railroad office.

The investigating lawyer, Paul Greeny QC, asked the policewoman if she thought what she had done seemed acceptable, and she replied: “No, it is unacceptable.”

During the investigation, footage was shown showing the moment Abedi entered the scene, and the investigation lawyer commented, directing his speech to the police, saying: “You just missed Salman Abedi walking to the city room from the train platform, it is clear that we all know what he is about to do, but if you have You came on a patrol 10 minutes ago and saw that guy walk this way. Did you consider him suspicious? ”

The policewoman replied: “Although it was a train station with people traveling with large backpacks on their backs … Looking at the footage if he passed by this bag on his back, maybe I would have asked him to search what’s inside.”

It is noteworthy that the British court, last August, had sentenced “Hashem Abedi ”, brother of the “Arena Manchester suicide bomber,” to life without the right to release him before the passage of 55 years.

“Hashem” was convicted of committing 22 murders and attempted murder and planning the suicide bombing carried out by his brother, “Salman”, on May 22, 2017, which killed 22 people and injured nearly 120 others.
