5+5 Military Commission meets in Libya soon for the first time

The UN mission in Libya announced that the “5 + 5” joint military committee will hold its first meeting inside Libya, specifically in the city of Ghadames.

The mission indicated that the military committee meets between 2 and 4 November; to hold the fifth round of talks, for the first time in Libya, in the presence of the Acting Special Representative of the Secretary-General of the United Nations in Libya, Stephanie Williams.

The mission added, in a statement that the participants will discuss in the meeting mechanisms for implementing the permanent ceasefire agreement, including the establishment of sub-committees, as well as monitoring and verification mechanisms for the ceasefire.

It is noteworthy that this round of military talks comes shortly after the signing of the permanent ceasefire agreement between the two delegations on October 23 in Geneva.
