Salame says optimistic that Libyan Political Dialogue in Tunisia will end conflict

The former UN envoy to Libya, Ghassan Salamé, said that he is confident that the Libyans will turn the page on fighting and move their country on the path to stability.

In conjunction with the start of the opening session of the Libyan Dialogue Forum in Tunis, Salame wrote in a tweet that after the great progress that has been made in the military and economic tracks; Libyans meet today to start their political dialogue.

He added: “The mission called for 75 of them and they came and no one was left. I hope that they will have courage and wisdom, so that their word will unite on turning the page of fighting and entering the path of stability and prosperity of their country, and I am confident that they are on this coming.”
