A well-informed source revealed to 218News a secret meeting between Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu and Leonid Slutsky, the Head of the International Relations Committee in the Russian State’s Duma, discussing the Libyan crisis.

According to what the source said, the two officials agreed during the meeting held last week in Istanbul, on a number of points of contention regarding the Libyan file, which is witnessing a momentum at the local and international levels towards a possible political settlement sponsored by the UN mission.

The meeting of the “Turkish-Russian” officials was attended by an Arab and an American figures, whose names, descriptions and photos will be published afterwards by 218News.

The source did not address the nature of the recent understandings by Ankara and Moscow, which may refer to rearranging their stances in Libya, coinciding with the military dialogue rounds in Libya between the 5 + 5 delegations, and the parallel rounds of the Libyan Political Dialogue Forum in Tunisia.
