Al-Namroush accuses Haftar of violating ceasefire, threatens to withdraw from 5+5 commission

The Minister of Defense in the Government of National Accord, Salah Al-Deen Al-Namroush, hinted at withdrawing from the Joint Military Committee agreement 5+5, referring to what he described as “Haftar’s violations.”

Al-Namroush expressed his surprise at what he described as “the silence of the UN mission and the international community on the movements of “Haftar’s forces”, and their threat to the ceasefire agreement in the south.

He asked whether the UN mission in Libya would be satisfied with silence in the face of “Haftar’s violations” and in return become opposed to any statement by GNA as it would be considered a threat to the dialogue process.

The Minister of Defense accused the Libyan  National Army of storming neighborhoods in the city of “Ubari” and demolishing homes of civilian residents.

The statements of “Al-Namroush” came a day after the Libyan National Army took control of the “Commandos” camp in “Ubari”, and the spokesman for the Army General Command, Major General Ahmed Al-Mismari, warned of a military build-up towards the front lines in “Sirte and Al-Jufra”; affirming the full commitment to the “5+5” agreement regarding the ceasefire signed in Geneva.
