New Turkish support for GNA Navy in Libya

The Turkish Ministry of Defense said, on Sunday, that the delivery reports prepared to give 47 kinds of materials needed by the leadership of the Libyan Navy were signed, without revealing their nature.

The ministry said, through its official account on  “Twitter” that the signature was done at the Turkish embassy in Tripoli, with the participation of officials of the Ministry of Defense of the Government of National Accord.

The media spokeswoman for the Turkish Defense Ministry, Pinar Kara, revealed at the end of last month that her country’s army has trained 2301 Libyan soldiers, while it is currently training 264 other soldiers.

The media spokeswoman indicated, in a press conference, that Turkey is stationed in Libya to support the Government of National Accord, which is recognized by the United Nations, and in accordance with international law and bilateral agreements signed with Al-Wefaq.

She emphasized that the Turkish army supports Al-Wefaq with military training, mine clearance, and health, in addition to providing humanitarian assistance and advisory support.

Recently, several sources revealed that Turkey was building an air bridge, linking its military bases there with the Misurata air base, and the Al-Wataya base in the west of the country, which was a point for the national army.
