The Russian Foreign Ministry said that the president’s special envoy to the Middle East and Africa Mikhail Bogdanov met representatives of the movement of Saif al-Islam Gaddafi.
A press release by the Russian Foreign Ministry added that the talks included Miftah Al-Werfalli and Omar Abu Ishreida. The two sides discussed views on the current situation in and around Libya, with a focus on the problem of a comprehensive settlement of the Libyan crisis in accordance with the conclusions of the Berlin International Conference and the provisions of Security Council Resolution 2510.
The statement indicated that the Russian side stressed during the meeting the importance of ensuring the comprehensive character of the Libyan dialogue, and its firm support for Libya’s unity, territorial integrity and sovereignty.
