Abedi attacks two prison guards, faces new charges

UK authorities have charged Hashem Abedi, who is accused of supporting his brother Salman, the perpetrator of the “Manchester Arena” terrorist bombing, in connection with an attack on two prison officers.

A source reported to “218News”, that Abedi’s accusation is “assaulting an officer” in King Belmarsh Prison, which is a prison for men of category “A” in Thamesmead, southeast London.

The source explained that the attack involved prisoner Ahmed Hassan, aged 21, who is serving his life for attempting to blow up a metro train in Parson Green, as well as another convicted extremist, Mohammed Saeed, 22.

The three prisoners have been charged with causing actual bodily harm to a prison member while Abedi has also been charged with assaulting a second prison officer, and they are due to appear before Bromley Partial Court on April 7 to answer the charges.

The source pointed out that the accident occurred in Belmarsh prison just weeks after Abedi was convicted of killing 22 people in the 2017 Manchester Arena attack.

Hashem was staying in Tripoli with his family on May 22, 2017 when his older brother Salman blew himself up during Ariana Grande’s concert.
