Spanish King hails Moroccan role in Libya

The Spanish King, Philip VI, praised the developments in the Libyan dialogue that began in Morocco, stressing that they give hope to seeing a stable and fully peaceful Arab Maghreb.

The King added, during his speech at the annual reception of the foreign diplomatic corps accredited to Spain, that “Spain’s relationship with the countries of the Maghreb is characterized by closeness and friendship,” congratulating the Moroccan diplomacy on its achievements in the Libyan peace process.

He also highlighted the importance of the relationship between Spain and Morocco, as two countries “share interests and challenges,” stressing that the Coronavirus pandemic was a major reason for the temporary absence of diplomatic efforts between the two countries.
