Norland: Shifting Libya’s resources to partisan agenda is at odds with people’s aspirations for change

The US ambassador to Libya, Richard Norland, considered that military positions and collusion with foreign and mercenary forces to undermine the political process, threats to close the Libyan energy sector, and attempts to convert Libya’s wealth to partisan agendas, contradict the people’s demands for change.

Norland’s statement came in a post by the embassy on its official Facebook page, which contained congratulations to the members of the Political Dialogue Forum and all Libyans on the nomination process for the new and unified interim government.

The embassy affirmed its strong support for the delegates of the Libyan Political Dialogue Forum as they meet from February 1 to 5 in Geneva to vote on the candidates.
