A source confirmed to “218News” that the members of the Political Dialogue Forum meeting in Geneva began this morning consultations to select the members of the Presidency Council.
The source added that the Legal Committee of the Dialogue Forum adheres to not voting on the selection of the Presidency Council members until after the resignation of the holders of the sovereign positions.
A number of participants in the LPDF have previously requested the exclusion of all candidates for the upcoming executive authority positions who hold high positions in current institutions, whose internal regulations do not allow them to run for these positions.
“218News” obtained a document that said the participants called on the members of LPDF to work to exclude all candidates who violate the Libyan laws and regulations.
The document stressed that there are precedents that should not, in any way, result in the legalization of such grave breaches.
