Libya, Italy enter new phase of bilateral security and economic relations

The Prime Minister, Abdul-Hamid Dabaiba, stressed the need for Libya to support all countries; to restore security on its territory, indicating that positive cooperation with Italy reflects the level of relations between the two countries.

Dabaiba said in his speech to the “Italian-Libyan” Business Forum, whose activities began Monday in Rome, that Libya is looking forward to working with Italy, which is his country’s best partner, in various aspects, including energy issues, economic reform and immigration.

In turn, the Italian Foreign Minister, Luigi di Maio, expressed his country’s readiness to rebuild Libya, by planning new investments, praising the political stability it is witnessing, following the selection of the Government of National Unity, which represents a good interlocutor representing the entire country.

Di Maio pointed out that Italy has never abandoned its presence in Libya in the most difficult circumstances, reiterating their commitment to strengthening the diplomatic presence, by activating the Consulate General in Benghazi and opening an honorary one in Sabha, announcing the opening of a promotional office for Italian companies in Tripoli. .
