24 December Party stresses need for holding Libya elections on time

The city of Misurata witnessed the birth of a new party called the December 24 Movement, which is concerned with the election due to take place at the end of this year, after the date was approved by the Libyan Political Dialogue Forum in November 2020.

The new party issued a statement in which it affirmed that it expresses a large segment of the city’s residents, and they demand that elections be held on time, rejecting any violations of the right to vote for all Libyans.

The party in Misurata appealed to all parties entrusted with the tasks of holding the elections to assume their national and historical responsibility in implementing the roadmap for the preliminary stage for a comprehensive solution.

The party offered assistance to those who wanted to organize the electoral process when it was stated in the statement that it affirmed its full readiness to contribute with the concerned parties in any national action that would contribute to the country’s exit from the dark tunnel to the civil state and the principle of peaceful transfer of power.

It also expressed its commitment while placing all relevant parties before their responsibilities, as it will not lack popular means and effective and serious demonstrations to achieve its goals in building a state of law and freedoms.
