The “5+5” military commission issued a statement following an inspection visit on Tuesday to the coastal road, stressing that the road needed urgent repairs, noting that it had contacted the specialized company to finish maintenance within few days.
The commission added that it inspected the security arrangements to set up the gates, and was given the green light to start entering the equipment.
The statement revealed a meeting held for the first time between the field operations rooms of the two sides and the Security Arrangements Committee on the contact line for the purpose of coordinating the procedures for opening the road.
At the conclusion of its statement, the “5+5” commission stressed the continuation of its meetings and field work to open the coastal road, as soon as the maintenance work is completed within few days.
