US-Egyptian talks on intelligence level about Libya’s status quo

The Chief of the Egyptian intelligence service, Abbas Kamel, held talks with leaders in Congress and US intelligence officials on the file of stability in Libya and ways to prolong the calm in Gaza.

These discussions come after a recent visit by Kamel to Libya, and his meeting with Prime Minister Abdel Hamid Dabaiba and the Commander-in-Chief of the Army, Field Marshal Khalifa Haftar.

During the visit, Kamel discussed how to strengthen relations of cooperation between the two countries and support the political process in Libya, which has suffered for years.

It is worth noting that Kamel’s visit to Libya came under Sisi’s directives to meet with Dabaiba and a number of Libyan officials, and to inform them of the results of the Egyptian delegation’s visit to Tripoli last May, and the coordination mechanism regarding the activation of all agreements concluded between the two countries.
