Source to 218News: Positive signs from LPDF Advisory Committee meeting in Tunisia

A source from within the Political Dialogue Forum stated that there is a very clear state of agreement among the members of the Advisory Committee, who are holding preparatory meetings in the Tunisian capital.

The source told “218News” that the advisory committee, consisting of 18 people, is working today to include all the observations made by the members of the Political Dialogue Forum, based on the contents of the constitutional basis proposal that the Legal Committee completed last April.

The source indicated that the comments submitted by the members revolve around five items: nationality, oath, constitution, conditions for running for presidential elections, and the powers of the next president.

These meetings precede the main forum that will be launched next Monday, where the Advisory Committee is expected to finish writing the draft that will be discussed in Geneva.

In the opening speech of the preparatory forum, the UN envoy to Libya, Jan Kubis, called for the study of a consensual solution acceptable to the widest possible range, based on the proposal of the legal committee of the forum, so as to address the concerns expressed by the members of the forum, during their meeting, last May
