After meeting Libyan PM, Boris Johnson is accused of “betrayal”

Families of victims of the Gaddafi-backed IRA attacks have accused British Prime Minister Boris Johnson of betrayal for ignoring their demands during his last meeting with the Prime Minister of the National Unity Government, Abdul-Hamid Dbeibah.

For his part, a spokesman for the victims’ organization, Kenny Donaldson, said that it was time to end “betrayal,” the Prime Minister needs to control and quickly “, calling for a change in the government’s approach in dealing with this file.

A British government spokesman said: “We continue to pressure the Libyan authorities to address the Libyan state’s historic responsibility for supporting the Gaddafi regime for the IRA.”

The families of the victims are demanding Libya to pay compensation to them, against the backdrop of allegations that Muammar Gaddafi supported the Irish Republican Army with the explosives used in the Harrods bombing in 1983, the Memorial Day celebration in Enniskillen in 1987, Warrington in 1993, and Docklands in London.
