Moscow urges Washington to remove “its traces” from Libya

Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova called on the United States to “remove its small traces” from Iraq, Libya, Afghanistan and Syria.

Zakharova’s invitation came in response to statements by the Vice Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff of the US Forces, John Hyten, in which he said that his country would leave small traces in those countries, to confront what he said were threats to its security from terrorist organizations, as well as from China and Russia.

The US general’s statements coincided with the increase in attacks launched by the Taliban movement in Afghanistan, and the targeting of several interests of Washington in Iraq and Syria.
