The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Aqila Saleh, criticized the statements of the Turkish Defense Minister, in which he said that the Turkish army in Libya is not a foreign army, accusing Turkey of creating confusion in an attempt to obtain gains, noting that the agreement concluded by the Sarraj government with Turkey will only be terminated by the newly elected president.
In an interview with “Sky News Arabia”, Saleh revealed a ready initiative, which will be put forward in the event of the failure to hold general elections in December.
He said the initiative is a vision for the unification of state institutions, stressing his intention to intervene in the event that the government is completely unable to perform its tasks.
Saleh added that those responsible for not reaching a unified constitutional basis for holding the elections are the ones who do not want Libya to reach the parliamentary and presidential elections scheduled for December 24.
He said that the House of Representatives will issue a law for the elections of the president and the House of Representatives in the next few days without the participation of anyone. He rejected the statements of the UN envoy to Libya, Jan Kubis, about the participation of the High Council of State in issuing laws.
