Tunisia rejects Dbeibah’s statements, says they are “far from truth”

Tunisia expressed its astonishment and rejection of the statements of the Prime Minister of the National Unity Government, Abdel Hamid Dabaiba, regarding countries exporting terrorism and the infiltration of terrorist elements from neighboring countries into Libya.

The refusal came from the Tunisian Foreign Minister, Othman Al-Jarandi, during his meeting with the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Najla Al-Mangoush, on Monday, on the sidelines of the consultative ministerial meeting of the neighboring countries of Libya in Algeria.

The Tunisian Foreign Ministry statement indicated that the Minister reminded Al-Mangoush that “the security and stability of Libya is part of the security and stability of Tunisia, and that Tunisia, in turn, is targeted by terrorism, and it cannot in any way be a base for its export or a source of terrorist group infiltration into Libya.”

The Tunisian Foreign Minister described Dabaiba’s statements as “untrue”, especially as they come at a time when Tunisia is trying hard to play an effective role in contributing to the stability of Libya, and as a defender of Libya in regional and international arenas, especially at the Security Council, according to the statement.
