HNEC proposes amendments to HoR’s Libyan presidential elections law
The Libyan National Elections Commission referred a set of technical observations to the Speaker of the House of Representatives, regarding the law on the election of the President of the State.
The Commission called for correcting and amending some articles of the law so that they are immune from appeal before the judiciary.
The most prominent amendments came to articles 12, 16, 20, 22, 50, which are related to legislation related to the dates for submitting the candidacy application, the withdrawal of the application and the conditions for withdrawal, the procedures for rejecting the application for candidacy, in addition to the appeal system.
It is noteworthy that the House of Representatives referred the election law, on September 8, to the Commission, after it was approved by the members of the House.
