Algeria calls for safe and organized withdrawal of mercenaries

Algeria called for the orderly and safe withdrawal of foreign forces and mercenaries from Libya, warning of the dangers of an unplanned and unattended withdrawal.

This came in the words of the Special Envoy of the Algerian Foreign Ministry, Ammar Ballani, during the meeting of the Peace and Security Council of the African Union, in which he stressed the need for the withdrawal to take place gradually, under the auspices of the United Nations, and in coordination with neighboring countries.

It is noteworthy that Algeria hosted, last September, the ministerial meeting of the neighboring countries of Libya, which called for the activation of the quadripartite agreement between Libya and the neighboring countries to secure the common borders, he also welcomed Egypt’s proposal to host the next meeting of the foreign ministers of Libya’s neighboring countries, at a date to be agreed upon later.
